CODES OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS / GUARDIANS 2020-2021 SEASON

We all have a responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour in the game.

Patcham United Football Club is supporting the FA’s Respect Programme to ensure football can be enjoyed in a safe, fun and positive environment.

Please remember children’s football is a time for them to develop their technical, physical, tactical and social skills.

Please play your part and observe the FA’s Respect Code of Conduct at all times.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS/ SPECTATORS WITHIN OUR CLUB ARE EXPECTED TO:

✓ ALWAYS BE POSITIVE AND ENCOURAGING, TOWARDS ALL OF THE CHILDREN, NOT JUST THEIR OWN AND APPLAUD AND RESPECT THE OPPOSITION AS WELL AS OUR OWN TEAM.
✓ AVOID COACHING CHILDREN (INCLUDING YOUR OWN CHILD) DURING THE GAME AS MIXED MESSAGES COULD CONFUSE CHILDREN.
✓ REFRAIN FROM SHOUTING AND SCREAMING OR USING INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE TO ANYONE.
✓ REFRAIN FROM ENTERING THE FIELD OF PLAY DURING THE GAME UNLESS INVITED TO DO SO BY THE MATCH OFFICIALS.
✓ STAND IN THE DESIGNATED AREA FOR SPECTATORS (BEHIND THE RESPECT BARRIER WHERE PROVIDED).
✓ RESPECT THE DECISIONS OF THE MATCH OFFICIALS, MANAGERS AND COACHES AS FINAL AND MADE WITH THE BEST OF INTENTIONS.
✓ REFRAIN FROM APPEALING FOR DECISIONS DURING THE GAME AS THIS CAN BE VERY INTIMIDATING FOR THE MATCH OFFICIALS (ESPECIALLY THE YOUNG AND NEWLY QUALIFIED MATCH OFFICIALS)
✓ GIVE ATTENTION TO EACH OF THE CHILDREN INVOLVED IN THE FOOTBALL, NOT JUST THE MOST TALENTED.
✓ AVOID CRITICISING PLAYERS (INCLUDING YOUR OWN CHILD) FOR MAKING MISTAKES AS MISTAKES ARE PART OF LEARNING.
✓ AGREE AND ADHERE TO OUR CLUB’S CODE OF CONDUCT AND CHILD PROTECTION POLICY.
✓ ENSURE YOUR CHILD’S SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE PAID BY THE SPECIFIED TIME AND REIMBURSE THE CLUB FOR ANY FINES PAID.
✓ PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO THE TEAM MANAGER / COACHES WITH THE SETTING UP AND TAKING DOWN OF PLAYING EQUIPMENT BEFORE/AFTER TRAINING & GAMES.

Complaints Procedure:

Complaints may be formally raised in writing by any member of the Club and sent to any member of the Club’s committee. The Club officer will then bring the complaint to the next Club Committee Meeting for discussion and resolution. If a Club Committee Meeting is not already scheduled within 4 weeks of the Club Officer receiving such a complaint, then an emergency Committee Meeting will be scheduled to deal with the complaint within that period. The Committee will formally respond to the complainant following the Meeting.

Expulsion:

The Club Committee shall have the authority to expel a member when, in its opinion, it would not be in the best interests of the Club for them to remain a member (for example, a serious or repeated breach of the Club’s Codes of Conduct).

Volunteers:

Please remember that all committee members, managers and coaches are volunteers. We are always looking for extra support with various roles within the club. If you have any free time and would be willing to volunteer your services to the club, we would be very interested in hearing from you. Please email patchamunitedfc@gmail.com
